Woodridge wrote to Eleanor Roosevelt, who in 1953 persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. NEA, along with its Kansas and Indiana state affiliates and the Dodge City (Kan.) Local, lobbied Congress to create a national day to celebrate teachers. Congress declared March 7, 1980 as National Teacher Day for that year only.

Over the past year, we have noticed that one of the biggest purchasers of our wooden block products are grandparents! Why is this?

Could it be because they have great fond memories of playing with building blocks themselves as children? Maybe it’s because they don’t relate to the “high-tech” toys of today? Or maybe they see that good old-fashioned wooden building blocks have benefits that other toys don’t?
